Build your photographs around the places you want to experience. A coastal morning, an evening market walk and an inland outing offer different subjects without turning the holiday into a race between viewpoints.
Choose a subject and leave time
For the sea, look for the contrast between shoreline and water from permitted viewpoints. In Old Market, let the streets and architecture guide the walk. For desert and mountain scenes, stay with the guide and allow for changing light. Access to a café, hotel terrace or beach may require permission or a purchase.
Photograph respectfully
Ask before photographing people, follow restrictions at religious sites and avoid security installations. Keep a secure grip on equipment aboard boats and leave your hands free on difficult paths. Do not move wildlife or natural objects for a picture. Check official rules before travelling with specialist equipment such as a drone.
