What Cairo said

Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty spoke by phone with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar on 18 October 2026. The ministry says the two discussed regional military escalation and stressed diplomatic efforts, political solutions and de-escalation. It also records Egypt's position that the security of Gulf states should not be threatened and that straits and sea lanes should not be used to increase pressure.

The limits of this report

The cited release describes a diplomatic conversation. It does not announce an Egyptian military operation against Saudi Arabia, a new order for Sharm El Sheikh, or a change to tourist entry rules. Those claims should not be inferred from a general reference to regional escalation. This is a summary of one official statement, not a complete assessment of regional security.

What visitors should do

For a holiday decision, check the travel advice issued by your own government, your airline or tour operator's operational updates, and any notices from Egyptian authorities. A foreign-policy statement alone does not confirm that flights, resorts or excursions have changed. Recheck close to departure and keep the original source links below.
